A looooooooong time ago, I probably posted about making my own Zelda comic of epic proportions and needing some map help. Thanks to everyone, by the way, who did help.

Today, I come with the not-so-fruits-of-my-labors-so-much-as-seedlings.

I had some sketches in my sketchbook that I decided to ink and color in. The main protagonist and Link. That's right. Not Link, although he is important. Not gonna say how though. But I will say this: Link gets kidnapped! Like in Zelda's Adventures....only not as lame! =D

i'm planning out the construction of this gun holster:

and i'm trying to figure out the best way for that light strip on the side to work out. so far i have only come up with two options.

a. put a strip of blue leds inside a diffuser. the problem i have with this idea is that, even with a good diffuser, it will probably just look like a line of blue dots.

b. make a tube for a blue glowstick to go inside. my problem with this idea is that it really wouldn't show up well in photos, and it probably wouldn't look great.

so how can i get this blue light strip to look good? wiring leds/lights isn't an issue for me, i have a friend who knows everything about that. please, give me ideas! thank you~

Is anyone planning a Cyperous group order in the next few months? I'd organize one myself, but with the hours I work it'd be near impossible for me to get to a post office to mail them out once they came in, and I don't want to just order for myself and spend $30 on shipping. :(

For those of you who are trying to find the space shuttle patches, I happen to work at the NASA site in Mt. View, CA and could get them for anyone who is interested.

My friend found a dog in Huntington Station today. It's a black lab.

If you know of anyone in that area missing a black lab, let me know.

As of around dinnertime on Sunday it hadn't been claimed.

Didn't get that kitty you asked for on Xmas? Please consider adopting Oliver! He's a bit over 1 year old, black and white, is ever so slightly cross-eyed (which is awesome) and ridiculously handsome. He's really playful, loves to be held, is very talkative and is always exploring.

He was brought into the animal hospital where my mom works and his owners claimed he was "mean" and wanted him put to sleep. My mom thought that was extremely unnecessary and decided to take him home and foster him. He's currently hanging out in my garage (occasionally sneaking into the house) because we already have a male cat, Scooter, who absolutely hates Oliver and is the reason why we can't adopt him. Oliver gets along GREAT with my dog and my other cat.

As for him being "mean," well, he isn't. He occasionally gets very excited and bites (which doesn't hurt) and then sometimes hisses. Anyone who has owned a cat knows this is just how some cats are. He isn't out to hurt anyone. He's just a playful cat who gets a little worked up sometimes. He just needs understanding owners who are willing to work with him...

If you are interested in adopting him, or know someone who might be, please message me! He is neutered, has all his shots and is in perfect health. He is currently indoor/outdoor but it shouldn't be difficult making him a completely indoor cat. We are in the Huntington area, if that matters.

I'm attempting to make Jack's fantastic RAF coat, but am having trouble finding just the right material for it. JoAnn's and Hancock have both failed me, so I've turned to Ebay. I've managed to find sellers who will send swatches of material, which is lucky, because I'm having a heck of a time matching both color and texture.

Here's one I'm considering. I know, the auction has ended, but the seller says they can get more of me. It's a thicker wool, looks close to the right texture, but might almost be too blue, and maybe a little too light. She sent a tiiiny little swatch, and it's hard to tell.

Here's the other I'm looking at. The fabric is lighter weight, but still looks good with the weave it's got. Might be better for summer conventions. My problem with it is that it seems like it might be too dark, and might look almost black in pictures.

So my dilemma is, do I go with the fabric that's slightly too dark, or slightly too blue? I've been rewatching Torchwood on Blu-ray, and even then it's hard to tell the exact color of Jack's coat. *facepalm* It looks bluish-gray in some scenes, dark charcoal in others, medium gray in others. ARGH. Both materials are rather expensive, too, and I don't want to buy something and waste $60-$75 on material I can't use.

Other Jack cosplayers, what have you used?

This is probably the only time I'll do this post-twice-in-a-month thing...ever. I'm here to annoy you with inexplicable font size changes, unnecessary flower icons everywhere and general new icon journal floundering. At least the icons now contain 50% less fail.

Anyway, ST is pretty much driving me nuts (good kind of nuts) so here's to my star game for the holiday season.

Two posts in a month, I think I'm going crazy. But instead of being tragically old, these are pretty much my newest icons. Anyway, to organize things, I made myself an icon journal so expect lots of annoying little flowers and teeny, tiny text.
